Cornerstone Parking Group History

Cornerstone Parking Group was founded in 2006 by Jay Micholic. After a 15-year career in the parking industry at large national firms, Jay made the decision to go out on his own, envisioning a different way of doing things. Instead of just providing staffing for existing parking operations that followed a status-quo culture prevalent in the industry, Jay wanted to develop an operating partnership with clients. This partnership would create unique, tailored solutions for their challenges that improved service, overall efficiency and the bottom line. Jay knew this was the key to a mutually beneficial relationship and becoming a trusted extension of the clients’ organization.

In 2015, Mike Brown joined Cornerstone as President. Mike and Jay had previously worked together on many projects and shared the same “servant leadership” vision that made their operations flourish. Focusing on three core parking platforms, Healthcare, Mixed-Use and Major Events, they were very fortunate to have existing Cornerstone leaders that were dedicated to the mission of the company. With that bedrock in place, Jay and Mike intentionally positioned Cornerstone for growth by surrounding themselves with leaders that have similar core beliefs, values, character and a proven track record of service delivery. 

Today, Cornerstone has a large operational footprint in 5 states and a major event platform that hires over 1000 people annually delivering operations in 8 additional states. All operations are successful in fulfilling our mission…becoming the trusted extension of our clients’ operation.

The Cornerstone Event Team parked cars for 968,516 balloon enthusiasts at the 2023 Albuquerque International Balloon Festival…that’s a lot of hot air!
